Napier Catering and a specialist marquee company have exclusive access to the Secret Garden, so for more details or to book a viewing, email us at enquiries@napiercatering.co.uk or phone 01454 415 716.

The Secret Garden is a magical wedding venue that offers a unique and memorable backdrop for your special day. In front of a stunning Victorian Manor house, the lawn is perfect for alfresco drinks receptions.
Space for a large marquee guarantees that you’ll be able to celebrate in style, whatever the weather. The garden offers amazing views of the sun setting over the River Severn and as dusk falls the romantic mood continues with the dramatic floodlighting of house and surrounding trees.
The flight of stone steps in front of the house is ideal for individual or group photographs, while the terrace offers guests a more intimate venue for drinks, or an imposing position for the speeches.
How many wedding guests can I entertain?
The garden will easily hold 250 people for a drinks reception. If you’re planning to seat guests for dinner in a marquee, we’d suggest a maximum of 200.
The garden is equally well suited to a more intimate wedding, the terrace is perfect for a drinks reception for up to 40, and marquees of a suitable size could be sited anywhere on the lawn.
What will it cost to hire the garden for my wedding?
Prices start from £1500; this includes three visits before the wedding, access to the garden during the week before the big day and for the day following the wedding.
Who will help with organising the wedding and catering?
For full details of the wedding and catering planning service offered by Napier Catering email us at: enquiries@napiercatering.co.uk or phone 01454 415 716.
Can I book my own wedding marquee company/caterer?
We work exclusively with Napier Catering, however they will be happy to discuss individual arrangements with you.
What about the wedding photos?
There are plenty of picturesque spots around the garden for your photographs, whether you want the impressive backdrop of the house and steps, or the romance of a pretty rambling rose. We can work with your photographer at a viewing before the big day to help find the most suitable locations.
Where is the Secret Garden located?
Tucked away in a Gloucestershire village with views over rolling farmland towards the River Severn, you could be miles from the nearest town, yet the garden is easily accessible from the M4 and M5. We are half an hour from Bristol and Gloucester, and just over two hours drive from London.
Is parking provided?
There is ample free parking available in the park in front of the garden. If guests wish to leave cars overnight and take taxis home that's fine, we ask that they are collected by noon the following day.
Are loos provided?
No, but we can help organise loo hire and there’s space to site these discreetly in the corner of the lawn.
Is accommodation available?
No, however we can supply a list of suitable local hotels and B&Bs.
Is the wedding venue accessible?
The entrance to the lawn is grassed and gently sloping, so suitable for wheelchairs.
Can I book the Secret Garden for a winter wedding?
We think the garden is best suited for weddings between April and October, when the weather tends to be better. Weddings out of season may be arranged – please contact us with your preferred date.
Is the venue licensed for wedding ceremonies?
No, the Secret Garden is exclusively available for wedding receptions or parties following a ceremony.
Alexandra & Simon
"We had our wedding reception here in September 2006 and the garden was the most beautiful place we could have found. We had around 200 guests for a champagne and canapé reception on the lawn in the afternoon, followed by dinner and dancing with 100 of our friends in the marquee. A skittle alley on the lawn provided entertainment throughout the evening. The garden looked so gorgeous and really helped make our day so special."
Tom & Sara
"We loved the personal feel of the garden rather than going for a hotel, and using Napier Catering meant we had the flexibility to tailor the day just as we wanted it. It was always going to be a wonderful day, but we couldn't have asked for a more magical location. Thank you!"
Whatever style or theme you have in mind, the garden is versatile enough to offer the ideal backdrop. However if you’re seeking inspiration, how about the following?
Use seasonal flowers, locally sourced food and drinks, then enjoy a traditional hog roast. We can supply a skittle alley and coconut shy!
Arrive in a classic car, decorate the marquee with bunting and vintage crockery, then soften the mood in the evening with candles around the garden.
